On this page, you can find more information about the reservation procedure for first year international students. We kindly like to ask you to read these conditions carefully before applying.

You can only apply with a non-Dutch nationality, please note: the nationality used to apply to get admission to a study programme needs to be identical to the nationality used to hand in a reservation request.

You can only apply if you have been ‘Admitted’ or ‘Conditionally admitted’ to your Saxion programme.

You have not been residing in the Netherlands before.

You are not from the neighbouring municipalities in Germany: Grafschaft Bentheim, Kreis Steinfurt, Kreis Borken, Kreis Coesfeld, Münster, Kreis Warendorf, Landkreis Osnabrück

Duration of the rental agreement for Assiociate degree/Bachelor degree and Short degree students is 18 August 2025 till 1 August 2026. As for Master students, this is 18 August 2025 till 15 August 2026.

It is not possible to terminate your rental contract before the end date.

It is not possible to prolong the rental contract; you will need to find your own accommodation after the end date of your rental agreement.

A down payment of the rental fees (€1.000) plus the obligatory deposit (€500) for a total amount of €1.500 has been received by Saxion no later than 14 May 2025.

The Housing Conditions Acceptance Statement has been signed and returned to [email protected] no later than 14 May 2025. You will receive this form shortly after submitting your reservation request.

For students staying in Enschede: whilst submitting your reservation request, you may also indicate your room type preference. Deventer is automatically arranged regarding the room type, as all rooms have the same rental price.
Room type preferences are not accepted by email, and only via the designated form that you receive from us.

Room type is assigned and communicated to you before 15 June 2025, and invoice with remaining rental fees is sent to you. The housing fee down payment of €1.000 is deducted from the remaining rental fees.

The remaining fees may be paid in instalments from mid August 2025 onwards.

Returning the signed agreement and paying the down payment is binding: once Saxion has received the signed agreement and down payment, it is no longer possible to cancel your reservation.

Shortly after the application deadline of 1 May 2025 Saxion will email an official invoice for the down payment of the housing fee to the students that submitted a reservation request. This invoice will be sent to the email address registered in the programme application portal (Studielink or SIS).
After 15 June 2025, an additional invoice will be sent for the remainder of the rent.
