Frequently Asked Questions

This year's INTRO is from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 August 2024. This is your first week at Saxion and your introduction to your study programme, fellow students and student city. In this last week of August, you will go out with your study programme for an unforgettable start to your studies!  

The start of your studies starts with the Saxion introduction, here important information is shared about your studies, you get to know your classmates and you start exploring the city. This part is very important, which is why it's best not to miss it.

Yes, you need to register for the general part of the INTRO in the city of your study programme. You can find out how it works for each city on the Introduction Week page.

Please note: you cannot register only for one activity, you need to sign up for the whole programme. 

The cost for the Saxion INTRO is 45 euros. If you stay overnight, there are extra costs: 20 euros per night. Check the Introduction page for more info and sign up. 

We will provide (limited) overnight accommodation for each location. When you register for the INTRO, you will be able to book a place to sleep in the form. If you want more info about signing up and where the overnight accommodation is located, please have a look at the Introduction Week page. You will also find info about the location and what to bring with you. 

Please note: accommodations are limited as we do not have the capacity for all students. So don't wait too long to secure your spot! 

First of all, check your spam folder! Is the confirmation not there? Then contact the location where you registered:

If you have signed up for the INTRO, you will receive two tokens to spend at the food trucks (Enschede/Deventer) on Tuesday and a meal on the Wednesday included in the price. In Apeldoorn, you will receive a meal with the price included on two evenings. So this will be arranged for you! 

Coins

We can imagine that you might feel like having drinks during the activities or concerts. You can buy your own refreshments at all three locations on the site using coins. Payment is entirely contactless by bank card, it is not possible to pay in cash.

Deposit coin scheme: RecycleCoin (RecycleMunt in Dutch)

During the INTRO, you will use reusable cups. Which means that there is a deposit coin scheme to follow.

How does this work? 

  1. Upon registration, you will receive a RecycleCoin from us free of charge. 
  2. When you hand in this RecycleCoin at the bar, you receive a cup. 
  3. Return your empty cup to the bar each time you get a new drink. Enough with the drinks? Return in your cup for a deposit coin. Keep it safe and return it when you order your next drink. 
  4. Do not throw your cup on the ground or in a waste bin. If lost, you pay 1 euro for a new cup/recycle coin. 

Important: A cup or RecycleCoin cannot be exchanged for money or a drink.

You can write an email to the location where you registered, stating your IBAN.

If you cancel before the 18th of August, your registration fee will be refunded as soon as possible after the Introduction Week.  

Unfortunately, that is not possible. Participation in the INTRO is for the full programme, regardless of which parts you take part in.

Every student joining Saxion is welcome to participate in the INTRO programme. We think it is important that the programme is inclusive and accessible. During INTRO, if you like, we can give you a pass from the Hidden Disabilities initiative. With this, you can indicate that you have an invisible support need, which is not visible to everyone. With this pass, others, such as the crew and parents, will see that you might need help without you having to mention it all the time.  So feel free to contact us if you want to make sure you can participate in all activities with your specific support request. We will be happy to think with you to determine whether any additional adjustments are needed for your participation. Please let us know via the e-mail addresses below: 

For students starting in February, a dedicated introduction is organised. So you don't have to sign up for this.

You will have the opportunity to indicate these in the registration form. 

During the INTRO, you can join a barbecue and a food truck festival will be organised. Pizzas will also be offered. Everything will be predominantly vegetarian, but we will also offer non-vegetarian alternatives. We hope to surprise you in a positive way with a tasty offering.

  • Enschede; on Tuesday the 27th of August between 9.00 and 17.00 there will be a bagage point in the central hallway. Students will receive the bracelet here giving them access for sleeping in the Pathmoshal.
  • Deventer; on Tuesday the 27th of August between 08:30 and 16:00 there will be a bagage point in the basement where the bicycles are parked. Here students will receive their bracelets giving them access to the camping and the ferry to the camping (the ferry goes on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday till 02:00), they will also receive information about which tent they sleep in. 
  • Apeldoorn; At the registrationmoment on Tuesday the 27th of August from 13:00 - 14:00 students will be able to hand in their bagage at a bagage point next to the tent on the Saxion terrain.
