During the minor students will develop into curious, conscious, multidisciplinary international professionals who are able to look at the world from various perspectives and make connections between different disciplines and philosophies. A wide range of subjects like physiology, geopolitics, societal issues, earth sciences and culture will be discussed. After attending the minor the students are able “to connect the dots” and will therefore act more as convincing and trustworthy actors. They will be able to relate with to any counterpart they face in their private or business network and interact with them in a sensible and eloquent way.

International Business School

Within the International Business School, we believe that today’s society is ready for a renewed consciousness of doing business. The International Business School is there for tomorrow’s international business.

You will find answers to

  • Why is there not a single country in the world that is elaborate and truthful about their own history? 
  • What impact does have nature on mankind and civilization? 
  • What is culture and how is culture been expressed around the world and why?

Philosophy of science, ethics, research – all from an international perspective.

  • Earth- and natural sciences (meteorology, geology, astronomy, paleontology, geography, human biology)
  • Social sciences (anthropology, political science, economy, psychology, sociology, social geography)
  • Humanities (philosophy, history, archaeology, cultural studies, literature, the fine arts)
  • “Great Books” that will (re)shape your attitude and force you to look at issues from different perspectives.
  • Technology: Robotics, Nanotechnology, Artificial Intelligence.
  • Approximately 10-12 guest lecturers will share their expertise with you.
  • Excursions to Brussels, Ypres and The Hague offering you the opportunity to speak to  International politicians, cultural attaches and lawyers.
  • You will continuously keep track on the latest news by reading and interpreting these current issues.
  • Bottom line: you will become curious, conscious and aware of the Socratic principle: “the more I learn, the more I realize how little I really know”.

Study load

  • 12 (full) hours (12x60 minutes) of lectures, 16 hours of self-study, and 1 consultation hour per week
  • 4 days per week
  • Excursions and guest lectures pertaining to subjects from the abovementioned disciplines

(Inter)national students form Saxion, other universities in the Netherlands, students from abroad are all very welcome. Especially those students that want to widen their interest and perspective  by getting surprised in a world of sciences & arts.
