Inge Grimm new President of the Saxion Executive Board
The Supervisory Board (RvT) has appointed Inge Grimm as the new President of the Saxion Executive Board (CvB) as of 1 June 2025. She will be the successor to Anka Mulder who is departing after more than 7 years. Grimm is currently President of the Executive Board at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences.
Inge Grimm studied HEAO Finance and Control in the evenings at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences followed by Sociology – Work & Organisation (Arbeid & Organisatie) at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. She also obtained her MBA at the University of Groningen. She began her career in business and also has extensive experience in education. From 2003 onwards she worked in various management roles at Wageningen University & Research before moving to Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in 2017. There she was vice-president before becoming president in 2022. Her portfolio included the topics of research, entrepreneurship and the Zwolle and Flevoland regions.
Karl Dittrich, Chair of the Supervisory Board, on the appointment of Inge Grimm: “The Supervisory Board is extremely pleased with the appointment of Inge Grimm as President of the Executive Board. It is good for both Saxion and the region that another experienced executive is going to be in charge of our applied university. We find ourselves in turbulent times and as such it is good to have experienced board members who can stay on course. Moreover, our strong regional role in education, research and entrepreneurship is gaining a powerful advocate. It is good, also thanks to the excellent cooperation of the University Council, that we have been able to appoint a successor to Anka so quickly.”
Inge Grimm on her appointment at Saxion: “Choosing Saxion stems from a natural curiosity and the need to broaden my scope. This applied university’s focus on technology and innovation really appeals to my interest in new developments and the impact of digitalisation. I’m looking forward to continue building on what has already been firmly established: the good educational position, the applied research and the broad cooperation with the region. That’s why I am taking this step. We are facing major challenges in higher vocational education and the region, our sought-after students, the demand for well trained staff among regional businesses and at the same time the huge challenges of demographic decline and significantly less funding from The Hague. I look forward to taking the next steps dealing with this together with Richard Wielinga and Suzan Koning, and of course all colleagues at Saxion.
Nico Kerssens, Chairperson of Saxion University Council (CMR), on the appointment: “The University Council is impressed by the speed with which the Supervisory Board has found an excellent new President. Inge is friendly, highly experienced in higher education, she knows the Eastern Netherlands well and has a relevant network. The University Council is looking forward to a constructive working relationship.”
Along with Richard Wielinga and Suzan Koning (interim-board member), Grimm will soon complete the Executive Board at Saxion with locations in Enschede, Deventer and Apeldoorn. Saxion has more than 26,000 students and approximately 3100 employees.
