Feeling lost at university? Discover how ADA brings fun, friends, and opportunities!

Reading time Minutes

Coming to university is an exciting new chapter in life. It's a time to grow as an adult, learn your future profession, meet new people, and of course, have a lot of fun. But what if making connections feels difficult or you're not always in the mood for socializing? Should you miss out on all the fun and opportunities?

Absolutely not. That's where the study association ADA comes in. It’s a community where you can make friends for life, share unforgettable memories, and improve your student life with incredible events. Besides just having fun, ADA also offers useful workshops to level up your knowledge and skills, which can be valuable for your future career.

How did it all start?

Let’s go back a couple of years and relive the moment. A few students felt the absence of a real IT-student community, so they gathered together and started planning how to bring a study association to life, giving a fresh breath to student life. Step by step, they got into the flow, learned all the details of their jobs, and ended up with a large number of students joining the association. In just two years, ADA had grown to over 250 members.

Curious about how to join ADA?

It’s quite easy—just sign up via links, which are published in social medias or on posters around the school. But before joining, you can also get a feeling of the overall atmosphere within the community by visiting the weekly meetings, which are called DoMiBo. This event happens every Thursday at 16.:00 in D3 OTSWO. During DoMiBo everyone enjoys each other's company, has drinks, and plays board and computer games. It’s a great opportunity to get to know your classmates outside of the study environment, and even get to know your teachers. Teachers often join for a couple of drinks and are always happy to share their experience and knowledge. If you’re unsure of the schedule, you’re always welcome to reach out to the board, who will be glad to answer any of your questions.

What does ADA offer you? The choice is yours!

Everyone gets their own benefit from ADA. For some, it’s a place to relax and unwind in the company of friends. For others, it’s a great opportunity to attend big events and fun parties. For some students, it’s a chance to gain new knowledge, along with enjoying some nice goodies. The study association offers a wide range of events, including cultural, educational, gaming, sports activities, parties and barbecues. Most of these events are free of charge for members, which makes it very beneficial to be a part of ADA.

What’s also great is that ADA has its own office, where everyone can get a nice cup of coffee, made with quality beans—much better than what Saxion offers. This and even more is included in the ADA membership. So how does it benefit you? That’s for you to decide, but there will definitely be something valuable for everyone.

My ADA Experience

From my own experience, I can honestly say that being part of ADA is the absolute highlight of my university life! ADA gave me unforgettable moments and memories I’ll keep forever. It introduced me to some of the most amazing, fun, and true people I’ve ever met. Every ADA event is a chance to enjoy great company, be with people who have your back, share similar interests, and fill the room with laughter and good vibes.

Conclusions

So, it’s your decision whether to join the study association or not, but everyone, who already has, would definitely say yes. Being part of a big, friendly community is always a great period in life. Believe it, this one will be truly unforgettable.
