General entry requirements
There are only two general entry requirements: diploma and language certificate. Please check below to see whether your qualifications meet the general entry requirements.
Diploma Requirement 📜
- Diploma requirement for Bachelor's programmes
Must be equivalent to Dutch HAVO, VWO, or MBO-4.
- Diploma requirement for Master's programmes
Must have obtained a Bachelor degree.
- Diploma requirement for Short degree programmes
Must have completed at least three years at university/bachelor degree level.

Student Registration might send your diploma/transcripts to the Nuffic for assessment and verification, to determine whether your diploma level is equivalent to Saxion's diploma requirements.
Please note: While the Nuffic's chart is a helpful guideline, our Student Registration will make the final admission decision, considering your previous curriculum.
English Requirement
To show your English language capabilities, you will need to upload one of the English language certificates listed below. These minimum scores apply to both our bachelor's and master's programmes.
- Minimum score of 6.0 IELTS Academic
We do not accept the Academic IELTS Online certificate.
- Minimum score of 80 or 550 TOEFL
Internet and paper formats accepted. Please note that we do not accept the MyBest scores of the TOEFL test as well as the TOEFL iBT Home Edition certificate.
- Minimum score of 169 Cambridge English Language Assessment
First, Advanced, Proficiency.
- Minimum score of 865 and 335 TOEIC
For both listening and reading, and speaking and writing.
- Minimum score of 61 Pearson PTE Academic
- Minimum score of 65 LanguageCert Academic

Exemptions
You are exempted from submitting one of the above test certificates if:
- Your diploma is on Nuffic's list and with English as a subject on your final transcript.
- You can provide proof that your bachelor or master studies were conducted in English, such as a copy of your diploma and confirmation with an official stamped/signed university statement.*
- Your diploma is from an English-speaking country; email [email protected] to inquire.
*The medium of instruction of your completed bachelor or master studies was English (this requires submitting a copy of your bachelor or master diploma). Please provide us with an official signed and stamped statement from your university in which they confirm that the medium of instruction of the entire curriculum was English.
This also applies to the English taught American High School curriculum that is accredited by an American regional accreditation organization, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and GCE AS/A level certificates issued by AQA, Pearson, Edexcel, OCR or Cambridge
