Fully energized into the Interreg lab!

Reading time Minutes

Last Friday, September 22, marked the kick-off of the Interreg Lab project. With a duration of three years, students from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, FH Münster, and Westfälische Hochschule will collaborate on innovative assignments from the region.

The Interreg Lab is part of the Interreg program, which is committed to boosting economic, social, and regional improvements in the Euregio. Thus, Saxion actively contributes to the development of the Euregio where the university in Enschede is located.

Simona, Chris, Tim, and Adrian are the Saxion students who will be working on two innovative assignments this semester. They will be supported by two students from FH Münster and two from Westfälische Hochschule. Their clients? HTM Nederland, a High Tech Maintenance company from Hengelo, and Pfreundt GmbH from Südlohn, the market leader in mobile weighing systems!

With a diversity of academic backgrounds, from mechanical engineering and integral safety to international business, the team embodies the spirit of international cooperation that the Lab stands for. This goes beyond just fields of study, encompassing collaboration with companies and educational institutions from different countries, and the integration of various cultures.

On Friday, questions like 'What is innovation?', 'How do I work creatively?', and 'What is design thinking?' were central. These were interactively addressed by students and innovation experts. Additionally, the focus was on team building and the development of intercultural skills. The team, with members from Nigeria, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, the Netherlands, and Brazil, delved into cultural similarities and dealing with differences.
