Lightweight Construction lab
In our Lightweight Construction lab we make products from composites. We do this at a lower cost than is customary in this industry.
In the future, more and more cars and aircraft will be built from composites. These are synthetic materials that contain components such as carbon or glass fibres. This makes them ten to fifty times stronger and stiffer than most common synthetic materials. In the Advanced Materials and Process Engineering (AMPE) minor students can learn about working with thermosetting composites. Internship and graduation projects are also possible.
Working in collaboration with other institutions, our Lightweight Construction research group has unique knowledge of thermoplastic composites. This puts us at the forefront in the Netherlands and beyond. Do you have a project for us, or do you want to collaborate with the lab? So why not contact the research group?
