What do you do with someone who suddenly becomes very ill? Does the patient receive an infusion, medication, or rest? You learn this in our Health & Wellbeing lab. Here you work with a lifelike robot – a simulated patient – that produces changes in blood pressure and can even sweat and bleed.
Healthcare is naturally all about people, yet technology is playing an increasingly important role. Indeed, technology is a cornerstone in the training of our Health & Technology students, who are preparing for the nursing profession.
As a student in our Health & Wellbeing lab you will experience how patients can respond to a medical situation or treatment. You practice what you should do in different situations. The simulated patient is a good tool for this. In our operating classroom we have all the necessary medical tools, from an intensive care bed and heart monitoring to anaesthesia equipment. Do you have a project for us, or do you want to collaborate with the lab? So call the front office of the Healthcare Academy (AGZ).
