Introduction

The programme is a mix of state of the art management theory and financial business, incorporating students own experiences to the modern western management and financial concepts, theories and models. The course comprises formal lectures, group work, pair work, independent study, visits to companies and project work.

Course content

The programme is practical in nature, being case-based and relying on students relating their own experience to the concepts, theory and models advanced. Social resourcefulness will be further pursued via extra-curricular learning, such as cultural events and visits, and one-off workshops and seminars, which students will engage in as part of Professional Update and Development. Creativity is an important aspect of the course.

Next to knowledge extension in the field of financial management, general management and human resource management, the programme enables the student to improve his personal performance. Curiosity and the need to acquire knowledge are basic conditions for successful participation.
It provides a basis for continuing self-development and fosters a creative yet systematic approach to problem solving. Next to that it enables participants to manage change effectively and to exploit the potential of information technology. Another element of the programme is that it aims to offer a strategic approach to business problems and opportunities in an international context. Highly rooted in practice, the programme focuses on relating theory to practice in a way that provides “better” solutions to business problems and challenges.

Overall, the programme is intended to produce individuals who will, by virtue of the skills and knowledge acquired, be able to act as leaders in organizations. The combination of cultural awareness, creativity and practicality is at the core of this aim and has been christened “The Leadership Effect”.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in a related business field
  • One year working experience in a related business field
  • Minimum of TOEFL 550, IELTS 6.5 or similar English Language qualification
