Introduction

At present technological and communication tools are developing at an amazing pace. The way we receive, use and produce information is changing almost constantly. Possibilities to communicate grow because of the expansion of new technologies.

Art & Technology seeks to educate students to help form these developments in a creative and innovative way.

Course content

First and second year

In the first two years you will create a broad base for the rest of your education. An extensive package of basic disciplines from the domains of Art, Technology and Social science will be integrated in so-called educational clusters and projects. In the clusters you will practice knowledge and skills. You will work in a group at projects. The course is structured thematically.

During the first two years the emphasis is on conceptual, design technical and directional knowledge and skills. The lectures are introductory and prepare you for independent study and making use of a lot of reference material. From the start you will get support from a student supervisor and all your productions and propositions will be collected in a portfolio.

In this phase a lot of thought is being put into vocational guidance by means of excursions and productions for the commercial project office of the school.

Third and fourth year

In this phase specialisation and focus on professionalism play a central role.
Teamwork stays important in projects, but there is more room for individual work.
The third year is focussed on methodological investigation, specialisation (orientation) and industrial placement (trainee practice)
The fourth year concentrates on deepening the conceptual level and graduation study with a company. You are able to show that you are ready for work.
You will also work on commercial projects for the project office.
